Darcie Bahr, Esq.
About Darcie
Darcie Bahr brings nearly two decades of legal experience to Rochester Elder Law, with a background purposefully suited to serving families through some of life's most complex and sensitive decisions.
Darcie built her career in family law and indigent family advocacy here in the Rochester community serving as both an Attorney for Children with the Legal Aid Society of Rochester and as an Assistant Public Defender for disadvantaged parents in Monroe County Family Court. That work required exactly what great elder law practice demands: listening carefully, protecting those who can't always advocate for themselves, genuine understanding and empathy, and an eye toward the big picture once immediate needs are met.
Those same qualities translate directly into estate planning, trust administration, Medicaid planning, and elder law. Whether helping a client plan ahead for long-term care, protecting assets for a spouse or family, or ensuring that a loved one's wishes are clearly documented and legally sound, Darcie approaches every matter with the advocacy mindset she's carried throughout her career.
Before joining Rochester Elder Law, Darcie also served as a Senior Attorney Editor at Thomson Reuters, where she managed legal publications and documentation — a role that reflects the meticulous attention to detail she brings to every client's plan.
Darcie earned her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law and a Bachelor of Special Studies in Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy from Cornell College. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Colorado.
